Tested Boxer Puppies

Although there has been a close bond between humans and dogs for several ten thousands of years, many of today's dog breeds - like the Boxer - are founder populations. This means that they came into being as if a few individuals ("founders") had landed on a deserted island and reproduced there.

During the world wars there was a further drastic reduction in the dog population, creating another genetic bottleneck for many breeds, and breeding strategies in which inbreeding was an integral part further restricted the genetic material.

Some breeders in German-speaking countries, but also worldwide, have now set themselves the goal of increasing the genetic diversity of the breed again. Among other things, this has the consequence that autoimmune diseases and allergies are reduced, fertility and life expectancy are increased, and the dogs are more efficient and less susceptible to cancer.

Using modern genetic methods, it is possible to test matings in such a way that optimal genetic diversity is ensured within the capabilities of the breed.

On this website we have only included breeders who are members of FCI-recognized clubs and have subjected the parent dogs to genetic testing in addition to the strict health examinations required for controlled breeding (HD, spondylosis and heart).

No one can guarantee that a dog will remain healthy for its entire life (we cannot take responsibility for this either), but: we want to bring committed breeders together with boxer puppy buyers who have an extraordinary interest in the health of their future dog.

Boxer-Genetics is an association that represents the latest findings in genetics of breeding. It is not about pedigrees and the resulting inbreeding factor, but about the genetic material that each boxer carries individually.

Heterozygosity in the DLA genes is not only important for individuals, but for entire populations. The greater the genetic diversity in the DLA genes, the better an adequate response can be made to a wide variety of pathogens or changing environmental conditions...
